Volunteers & Graduate Studies

In the Hood Lab we are strong believers in the training of "highly qualified personnel" at all levels of education.  At the undergraduate level, we usually take on one or two Summer NSERC or CIHR students each year as paid positions.  Several volunteer positions are also available in the Summer, and we make use of many student volunteers throughout the school year who help us around the lab.  These placements allow students to become familiar with a laboratory setting and to meet senior trainees.

Positions are also available yearly for MSc and PhD students, and post-doctoral candidates can apply at any time.

Trainees interested in any of these opportunities should investigate the Hood Lab research program on this website, and look at recent publications listed on Pubmed prior to contacting Dr. Hood by email (dhood@yorku.ca) for a possible interview.
